History

The long presence of a church in Muthill is evident by the remains of a medieval building and burial ground in the centre of the village. The Old Church has a 12th century tower and the ruins of the 15th century Church Building, a handsome late Georgian building dates from 1825-8.

The Parish of Muthill has a population of over 800, the majority of whom live in the village, which is situated 3 miles south of Crieff. Perth and Stirling are within a half-hour’s drive and Muthill is on the scenic route from the A9 through the Sma’ Glen to Aberfeldy and Dunkeld.
